Venerable Master Hsing Yun has been promoting Humanistic Buddhism, which has been followed by the Buddhist community. Many scholars have devoted their time and effort in doing research on the subject. Humanistic Buddhism has obviously become the main stream in society. For example, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, one of the top five universities in Asia, has emphasized the religious studies for over four decades. In recognition of the Venerable Master’s achievements in promoting Humanistic Buddhism, they established the “Humanistic Buddhism Research Center” in 2005, and invited us to be their counselors and supervisors in the hope that the mutual cooperation would lead to further achievement in Buddhist studies.
